CANDIDATE INFORMATION

Congratulations on becoming a candidate for a WCWMA Black Belt.  Your hard work, dedication, loyalty and passion for Martial Arts has led you this far.  What was once a dream 4+ years ago is now a reality and now it's up to you to seize the moment and make your Black Belt Test the most Empowering event of your life.

Besides maintaining a consistent training schedule, candidates are also required to train alongside KJN Ernie Reyes Sr., KJN Tony B. Thompson and other Head / Master Instructors throughout the Association on a weekly basis.  These WCWMA Black Belt Training are mandatory and vital to your growth and development in achieving your WCWMA Black Belt.

In addition to Association Black Belt Training, Current Black Belt Candidates are expected to train each Saturday at the Newark School from 11:45 - 12:30pm.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stay Consistent with your training & Stay Driven in your purpose to become a WCWMA Black Belt.
  • Know your curriculum.
  • All Candidates are required to compete in WCWMA Tournaments.
  • Higher Degree Candidates & Up must have completed a minimum of 1 year for each stipe on the belt they are testing for.  Forth degree and above
    should have at least 4 years between belt tests. Testing early is not an option.
  • All candidates must keep their academic grades above a “B” Grade Average.  Any candidate falling behind academically will be held back until the next Black Belt Testing Cycle.
  • All candidates must have an active student contract and WCWMA Membership Card.
  • All Prelim Tests must be completed before Try-Outs.
  • All candidates must show a positive mental attitude and high level of respect towards their instructors & parents.
  • Testing packets must be submitted on time fully completed.  Any incomplete packets will not be accepted.
  • Candidates are responsible for learning and understanding all required Life Skills during the Black Belt Testing Cycle.
  • Candidates who show an unwillingness to train, have other obligations that distract them from training, poor attitude, demonstrate a lack of effort in class and / or shows disrespect towards classmates, instructors or parents will no longer be eligible to test.
